Completely Inelastic Collision

m1v1 + m2v2 = (m1 + m2) v’

Momentum is conserved.   KE is not conserved

K initial= .5m1v1^2 + .5m2v2^2

K final = .5(m1+m2)v^2

KE is always lost

Completely Elastic Collision

KE conserved

m1v1 +m2v2 = m1v1′ + m2v2′

.5m1v1^2 + .5m2v2^2 = .5m1v1’^2 + .5m2v2’^2

U = mMG/R

P = mv

L = r x p

c = wavelength x frequency

f = 1/T
